Canton Fair Phase II Begins on Oct. 23
The second phase of the Canton Fair kicked off on October 23. While the first phase was focused on machinery, electronics and automobiles, the second phase is "home" themed, showcasing kitchen equipment, household ceramics, artistic ceramics, home decorations, glass objects, holiday items, toys, gifts, clocks, glasses, household goods, personal care products, bathroom supplies, woven and rattan and iron objects, furniture, garden products.
The e-commerce platform for the Canton Fair came online early this year. After half a year of operations, the operator of the e-commerce platform signed strategic partnership agreements with 12 trade delegations at the fair.
According to Wang Zhiping, deputy director and secretary-general of the Canton Fair, director of the China Foreign Trade Center, and chairman of the China Foreign Trade Center (Group), the operator of the e-commerce platform is currently conducting research to explore the possibility of establishing another e-commerce platform for cross-border trade and a national mega-platform for general merchandise. The mega-platform will allow suppliers to enjoy one-stop services such as bank financing, insurance purchase, shipping space booking, and export rebates.
